I was the Lead Generalist for ILM San Francisco on Jurassic World: Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards.

Our team built and rendered cg environments using Houdini Solaris & Renderman alongside 2.5D projection work in Nuke. I helped to onboard and mentor artists that were new to Houdini, Houdini Solaris, or in some cases new to ILM how to make the most of the toolset and achieve their shot work. We provided final pixel renders to comp while also sharing our published sets with the FX & Lighting departments for dino interaction. In particular, I was responsible for developing the look of our jungle valley for the Quetzalcoatlus sequence, which combined aerial drone photography of Jog Falls with CG renders and our live action plates.

Our team’s work was recognized by nomination to the Oscars shortlist for Best Visual Effects.
